IMPHAL, July 3 - Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh who went to New Delhi in a chartered flight on Tuesday to meet Central leaders, returned to the State this afternoon.
According to information available, the Chief Minister arrived at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport here along with his aides.
However, as per the existing protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Biren Singh entered his official residence after completing all necessary tests at the airport, sources said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said in a Facebook post: Friends I just reached Imphal, doing COVID-19 testing and awaiting the result at the Airport. Also Tested negative result got after 1 hrs.
During his visit to the national capital, Biren Singh met BJP national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the win of Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, sources said.
However, it is not clear whether the Chief Minister discussed the issue of distributing ministerial portfolios after four NPP MLAs, who had briefly withdrawn support to the BJP-led coalition Government in the State, came back to join the Government.
