Lyngdoh re-elected as Meghalaya Congress chief

SHILLONG, July 22 (PTI) - Friday Lyngdoh has been re-elected unopposed as the president of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).

Lyngdoh was the only candidate to file the nomination papers. He was elected yesterday.

Lyngdoh was appointed MPCC president in 2008 by AICC president Sonia Gandhi after replacing O L Nongtdu to strengthen the party.

Besides Lyngdoh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Augustine Marak, former minister KK Dkhar and legislator Lakmen Rymbui were elected unopposed as vice-presidents of the MPCC.

Union Minister of State for Water Resources Vincent Pala was elected unopposed to the post of treasurer.
