PATACHARKUCHI, July 10 - Despite incessant rains, people came out to repair a breached dyke of the Kaldia river at Patacharkuchi.

Around 50 people have been working since Thursday on a war footing to block the portions washed away by floods.

The main road has been submerged and a newly-constructed road nearby Sariha Chakla was damaged.

The local people collected some donation from the residents and repaired the damaged portions with sand bags and bamboo posts.

The people expressed strong resentment over the silence of the public representatives and administration.
