GUWAHATI, Feb 16 - The Asom Krira-Sanskritik Utsav (Assam Sports and Cultural Festival) Samiti will honour five distinguished personalities with lifetime achievement awards for their contribution in their chosen fields.
The awardees are Patricia Mukhim (journalism), Dr Saumarjyoti Baruah (medicine), Nuruddin Ahmed (culture), Saradananda Adhikardev (spiritualism), Sakidul Alam Hazarika (sports) and Rama Kumar Das (social service), a press release stated. In addition, a host of other personalities will be awarded in the �best of the year� category for excellence in their chosen disciplines.
The awards will be presented at a function to be held at Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir at 5 pm on March 1, synchronizing with the 105th birth anniversary of Louhapurush Premadakanta Sarma.
