LF candidate to be elected for RS from Tripura

AGARTALA, March 17 � The ruling Left Front candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura, Jharna Paul, is all set to be elected for the upper House unopposed.

The Tripura Assembly Secretary and Returning Officer of Rajya Sabha elections in Tripura, Sukhamoy Lodh, said Tuesday was the last date for filing nomination and he received only the nomination of Jharna Paul.

�Today was the day for scrutinising the nomination and we have found that the nomination of Paul was valid. The last date of withdrawal of nomination is March 19 and after that the name of the winning candidate would be declared officially,� he said. � PTI
