KOKRAJHAR, July 5 � A grand felicitation program was held in appreciation of high jumper Laimwn Narzary of Kokrajhar who won gold medal for India in the World School Athletics Championship in Wuhan in China held from June 27 to July 2.
A good number of supporters comprising of public leaders, politicians, students, villagers, well-wishers, friends and sports organisers from Kokrajhar gathered at the SAI Center last evening to felicitate her.
Deputy Chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary, BTC EM, Doneswar Goyary along with others were present on the felicitation program. BTC Sports & Youth Welfare department declared Laimwn Narzary as Bodoland Kungri (Bodoland Princess) for her excellent achievement in the World arena of sports. Doneswar Goyary, Executive Member of BTC who is also in charge of Sports & Youth Welfare department, etc. announced a cash award of Rs 2 Lakh to Laimwn.
