Labour welfare Administrative cost to be capped

GUWAHATI, Sept 26 - Days after a Rs 121-crore alleged scam rocked the Assam Building and Other Construction Workers� Board (ABOCWWB), Labour and Employment Minister Pallab Lochan Das today told the Assembly that the government has decided to cap the administrative expenditure of the board at 5 per cent of the total spending.

He also admitted that functioning of the board, which was constituted by the State government in 2007 to extend benefit, financial assistance under various social security schemes and welfare measures to labourers, is yet to be streamlined.
