GUWAHATI, Dec 20 - Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Rajesh Dhawan, who was arrested on Tuesday by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of accepting bribe, was today produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI here.
The court remanded Dhawan to two-day custody of the CBI. Dhawan, who hails from Rajasthan, was caught red-handed from his house while accepting bribe from a contractor.
Meanwhile, sources said that Dhawan used to demand money from contractors for awarding the contracts. �During preliminary questioning, it has been found that the accused also siphoned off annual school funds released by the government,� sources said.
Sources added that many witnesses are in touch with the CBI to record their statements against Dhawan who had joined the KVK as the principal in 2016.
