IMPHAL, Nov 2 The post-harvest festival Kut was celebrated with traditional fervour, gaiety and cultural shows at the Parade Ground of Ist Manipur Rifles here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh observed that Manipur is a mini India and a home to various ethnic groups and all these ethnic groups have their democratic rights. But care should be taken not to affront the democratic rights of other groups in pursuance of ones own. All the ethnic groups should also extend mutual co-operation for the overall development of Manipur and in case of conflict, the matter should be settled through discussion.

Ibobi went on to say that his government is not in favour or against any particular ethnic group but looks upon everyone as equal. He also released a souvenir to mark the occasion.

In the evening, beauty pageant-Miss Kut contest was held where Assembly Speaker I Hemochandra was the chief guest.
