Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

GUWAHATI, July 26 The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) today blocked the GNB Road in front of the District Library here in protest against the failure of the State Government to revoke the June 17, 2014 Office Memorandum numbering RSS/288/201/TT/25-A.

This Office Memorandum has allegedly facilitated handing over of farmland to the traders and corporate houses for non-farming activities.

Police arrested the KMSS members, detained them at the Panbazar Police Station and released them around 5 pm.

KMSS warned in a statement here today that it would go for more militant form of agitation since the Government has not been paying any heed to the relay fast being observed by its members since July 21 on the demand.
