Karimganj girl in Bangla judicial custody

SILCHAR, April 5 - Twenty-one-year-old Mousumi Das alias Fatima Zannat of Karimganj district, who had allegedly entered Bangladesh illegally after eloping with a Bangladeshi trader identified as Numan Badsha on March 12, was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday by a court in Dhaka.

According to sources, officials of Demra PS in Dhaka had registered a case against the girl, a third semester student of Rabindrasadan Girls� College in Karimganj, under Section-IV of the Control of Entry Act, 1952 after arresting her for entering the country without a valid passport and visa.

Meanwhile, Karimganj Superintendent of Police Gaurav Updhayay informed that efforts are being made for repatriation of the girl. �We are trying for the repatriation of the girl and also for the arrest of Numan Badsha,� the Superintendent of Police said.
