Kamrup (R) NRC cell ready to publish complete draft NRC on time

BAIHATA CHARIALI, June 22 - �There will not be any difficulty to publish complete draft National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) of Kamrup (Rural) district on June 30,� said Kamal Kumar Baishya, Deputy Commissioner cum district co-ordinator of NRC Kamrup district in a press meet held on Thursday at the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup at Amingaon.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that already more than 85 per cent of work regarding NRC update in the district has been completed till date with active support and co-operation from the State NRC coordinator Pratik Hajela through a total of 123 NRC Sewa Kendras (NSKs).

Deputy Commissioner Baishya also said that out of 123 NSKs, 57 NSKs are normal, 39 sensitive and 27 is very sensitive.

Meanwhile, the NRC authority of the district had already detected 30 cases for using fake legacy code and producing false documents before the NRC authority during the verification of family tree and separate FIRs had been filed for the same. To spread awareness about the publication of complete draft NRC and to maintain a normal situation among the public, the district administration will organise streetplays, citizens� meet, poster and banner drive etc., so that no untoward incident will take place in the district.

In the press meet, Darathy Suchiang, NRC in-charge of the district and Ritu Moni Goswami, District project supervisor of NRC were also present.
