Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

GUWAHATI, Aug 7 - In view of the huge rush and the approaching deadline for submission of NRC forms and supporting documents, Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu has urged the people of the city to complete all formalities for submission of the forms at the earliest.

He said that as the deadline for submission has been extended till August 31, a lot of people in the city still have to submit their forms.

Dr Angamuthu said that long queues are likely during the last week or the last ten days of August at the NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs) and the citizens should, therefore, try to complete the process by August 20-21 to avoid the last-minute rush.

The NRC State Coordinators office had earlier extended the deadline for submission of forms from July 31 to August 31. Altogether, 78 NSKs are operating in the Kamrup Metro district.
