Kakojan College completes 50 glorious years

KAKOJAN COLLEGE, situated in the eastern part of Jorhat district, has been celebrating its three-day concluding function of its year-long golden jubilee celebration from today.

Under Dibrugarh University, the college has been imparting both Arts and Science course in undergraduate level and delivering various skill-based courses. The college tied up with Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University for undertaking various educational programmes upto the post-graduate level. In 2004, the college was recognised as a leading centre of higher education with B grade accreditation by NAAC and in 2016, the college upgraded its level to B+ in the next accreditation. Besides infrastructural facilities like digital classroom and digital conference hall etc,. the college also has a web-enabled central library which is linked to the UGC-sponsored INFLIBNET and National Digital Library enabling on-line access to books and journals.

A role model in extension activities, the college�s �Organic Farming� project is an initiative to promote environmental protection. Kakojan College established an organic model garden in collaboration with NEADS, a local NGO and with Fertile Ground, an international organisation of Canada, in its initial stage.

Agriculture Minister Atul Bora inaugurated a short-term course on organic farming on July 27 last year. Considering the career prospect of the students and social concerns, the college signed an MoU with IIE of Guwahati and Assam Kaziranga University. Students have been encouraged to take up co-curricular activities too.

Two HS students brought laurels to their alma mater by securing 1st and 5th positions respectively. Kakojan College has always been a trendsetter and guiding the students in all facets for their well-rounded development.
