All the Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and a few government officers have been placed under 14 days of home quarantine and swap samples have been collected. Adjacent areas of the Council Secretariat where a number of government offices and institutions are located have also been closed for three days.

Meanwhile a number of Executive Members, including Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang had opted for swab test. The CEM has tested negative.

It is pertinent to mention here that Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and in-charge of Health & Family Welfare Department Khonsing Rongpi attended a number of official meetings at COVID hot-bed Kheroni locality of West Karbi Anglong and later he also attended a few important closed-door meetings at the Council Secretariat last week where apart from several Executive Members, Chief Executive Member, senior government officials, Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, secretarial staffs were present.
