Joymati actress Ambika Baruah dies in mishap

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 25 � Ambika Baruah, who played the role of �Tarbari� in the first Assamese film Joymati made by Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala, is no more.

The actress, who hailed from Charikhelia Balizan under Gohpur subdivision, died this morning in a tragic road accident along with her son-in-law at Narayanpur. She was 90.

Born to Maheswar Borah and Lahdoi Borah of Gamiri under Halem mouza in Sonitpur district, late Ambika Baruah was chosen for that role by Jyotiprasad following the original actress, Bhaniti Burhagohain�s illness.
