Joint operation to nab culprits

GUWAHATI, July 15 - Assam Police along with the Army, CRPF and SSB has launched a joint operation to apprehend the culprits involved in the killing of two persons in Bijulibon village under Pengeri Police Station on Tuesday. Three other persons also sustained injuries in the incident.

An official press release stated that the ADGP (Law and Order) RM Singh, DIG (Eastern Range) and four commandants of different battalions are camping at Pengeri. Four additional companies of security forces have also been deployed in the area, it added.

Suspected militants opened fire in a household yesterday night killing one Nandalal Shah and his daughter Kajol Shah.
