MANGALDAI, Aug 1 - The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Regional Basketball Tournament (boys and girls) under Shillong region got underway at JNV, Udmari, Darrang campus on Wednesday. The tournament is being played in three different categories � U-19, U-17 and U-14.
In the inaugural matches of U-19 age group, Kohima cluster defeated Cachar cluster in the boys category while host Darrang cluster beat Cachar cluster in the girls section.
Earlier, in the inaugural function, Ashok Kumar Barman, Deputy Commissioner, Darrang declared the meet open.
