Jamat-e-Islami member nabbed

SHILLONG, Aug 10 - A member of the Jamat-e-Islami foundation of Bangladesh was arrested by BSF troops at Baghmara in South Garo Hills along the Indo-Bangla border on Thursday.

According to the BSF, Md Jaharul Islam was arrested as he was trying to sneak into India and visit the North East for unspecified reasons. He was nabbed on the zero line.

The BSF confiscated 11 visiting cards. During interrogation, Islam said that he works for the Jamat-e-Islami foundation in Bangladesh and wants to become a jihadi. He also works for an international forum, SEBDA Children Denmark.
