Isolation wards in Meghalaya hospitals

SHILLONG, March 6 - Isolation wards have been set up in 13 hospitals by the Meghalaya Government as a precautionary measure to tackle any case of COVID-19.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the isolation wards have been set up as a precautionary measure.

�We have contacted a number of private hospitals to take necessary steps and conduct screening of people, especially foreigners,� he said.

The Chief Minister urged the public not to panic, adding that 61 students from Meghalaya who had earlier returned from China, have been kept under observation for 28 days.
