IPV drive formally launched

GUWAHATI, Dec 16 - Along with the 26 other districts of Assam, a formal launching ceremony of Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccination (IPV) in Kamrup Metro district was held at the Capital State Dispensary here today.

The launching programme was attended by Dr Ganesh Saikia, Joint Director of Health Services of Kamrup Metro, and other officials of the district administration, said a statement.

It added that IPV protects children against all three forms of polio virus.

The IPV vaccine will be given at all government hospitals in the district free of cost to ensure double protection against polio and the district administration has appealed to parents to ensure that their wards receive IPV.
