GUWAHATI, Oct 6 - The State government will create an investment cell to address issues related to trade and commerce of the State, said Ravi Capoor, State Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Mines & Minerals and Social Welfare, at an interactive session with the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) on Tuesday.
FINER conducted the interactive meet with Capoor where a host of issues concerning trade and commerce came up for discussion.
Pabitra Buragohain, president, FINER, addressed the gathering and lauded Capoor for making the department more approachable and responsive for the industries of the State. He also submitted a memorandum to the latter on the different issues prevalent in the State like ease of doing business, GST, NEIIPP, land, power, etc., and requested the department to take measures to address those issues for development of trade and commerce.
Capoor appreciated FINER for playing a vital role for the uplift of trade and commerce in the State and the support rendered to the Department of Industries & Commerce in the matter. He welcomed inputs, suggestions and concerns raised by FINER through its memorandum and said that the department is in the process of creating an investment cell to address issues related to trade and commerce of the State.
Senior officials present from the Department of Industries & Commerce Shehla Rahman, Secretary and additional directors Manjula Saikia, Prafulla Saikia and Bipul Das also said that their doors are always open to the public and assured of full support to address the related issues.
