AGARTALA, Dec 4 - Security has been beefed up along the national highways and railway line in view of the 12-hour blockade called by the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, tomorrow. Sources said that INPT supporters would block the Assam-Agartala highway and the railway line at Champaknagar in West Tripura district.

Additional security personnel have been deployed in sensitive areas to avoid any untoward incident, said a senior police officer here today.

The INPT will continue to oppose the citizenship Bill and the blockade programme is the first phase of the agitation, said party general secretary Jagadish Debbarma.
