Indian envoy to Myanmar visits AR

SHILLONG, April 16 - Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Vikram Misri visited Assam Rifles (AR) Headquarters at Laitkor here on Saturday during his two-day visit to the State Capital.

Misri was briefed on the operational and administrative aspects of AR which guards the Indo-Myanmar border. He also interacted with AR Director General Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan.

The Ambassador complimented AR for guarding one of the most challenging and inhospitable terrain of North East. He urged officials of the force to continue the good work and maintain peace and tranquillity in the region.

Mishri had earlier visited four Northeastern States � Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram which share international border with Myanmar.
