Imphal records 1.6 degree C

IMPHAL, Dec 31 - Imphal recorded the lowest temperature among all the capital cities of the Northeastern States on Monday, according to Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati reports.

The mercury plunged to 1.6 degree Celsius (2.6 degree as per Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Manipur Centre at Lamphelpat) in Imphal today, the Meteorological Centre reported, while Shillong recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius.

Kohima recorded a minimum temperature of 4.0 degree Celsius, Aizawl 11.6, Agartala 9.2, Dispur (Guwahati) 8.3 and Itanagar 8.9, the report said.

According to the reports, the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 4 degree Celsius till January 4 while maximum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius.
