IAF cycling expedition flagged off

GUWAHATI, Feb 26 - A 30-member cycle expedition organised by the Eastern Air Command of the Indian Air Force was flagged off by Air Marshal RD Mathur, AOC-in-C Eastern Air Command at Air Force Station Guwahati today.

The expedition was organised as part of diamond jubilee celebration of the Eastern Air Command. The air warriors from different bases were divided into three teams which commenced the expedition from Purnea, Chabua and Shillong. The teams were led by Group Captain Rajdeep Singh, Flight Lieutenant K Wisdom and Group Captain R Rex. En route the team interacted with students and motivated them to join the armed forces.

Eastern Air Command was raised 60 years ago and has grown through battles. Over the years, the command has impressively contributed towards national security and also in various humanitarian and disaster rescue operation in the region.
