Hotels as quarantine centres denotified at Haflong, vacated

HAFLONG, May 28 - Considering peoples� inconvenience, quarantine centres at hotels of Haflong were vacated and all the inmates were shifted to the girls� hostel of Haflong Government College here today.

A total 324 people have been kept in institutional quarantine centres at Haflong, Mahur etc., after the discharge of 45 people.

Meanwhile, a positive case (male, 23 years) of Mahur, Dima Hasao, who boarded the Chennai-Jiribam train at Chennai on Maly 20 and de-boarded at Badarpur on May 24, has been detected. The sample was collected on May 24 and he is at present in Maruti hotel quarantine facility centre in Cachar with the present status as asymptomatic.

Evon Teron, Assistant Commissioner and also Nodal Officer for Dima Hasao Covid-19, talking to the media said that all the frontline warriors of Covid-19 have been working selflessly day and night to fight the pandemic despite various constrains. He assured that his entire team along with line departments are unitedly working during crisis period.

It is expected that more than 500 people from various places from outside the North East would be reaching Dima Hasao and arrangement of accommodation for them is being done on a priority basis.
