The bamboo fell on the power line due to heavy rain and strong winds. Soon after high voltage power passed through the domestic lines, the ASEB disconnected the power supply, following which the entire village was saved from a major catastrophe, an official who visited the village, said.

However, momentary transmission of high voltage power damaged the power meters in several residences of the village, besides melting cables and damaging water pumps and circuits.

At least 15 members in 76 households sustained minor injuries due to electric shocks.

After officials and workers of the ASEB removed the bamboo under reference, power supply was restored.
