AIZAWL, June 3 - Fifty-six grams of heroin, worth Rs 1.80 lakh in the local market, were today seized by Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials and one person apprehended here.
The heroin was recovered by Central Committee of Young Mizo Association (YMA)�s anti-drug squad volunteers who then informed the Excise authorities.
Meanwhile, about 93 kgs of pangolin scales were seized from a person in Champhai town along Mizoram-Myanmar border, police said today.
The scales were recovered from one C Thanga yesterday and he was arrested. The seized pangolin scales are worth around Rs 20 lakh in the local market and were suspected to be smuggled to China through Myanmar, a police official said. � PTI
