Hemoprova inducted into CWC

NEW DELHI, March 4 � Hemoprova Saikia and former Chief Minister of Nagaland S C Jamir have been inducted as special and permanent invitees respectively of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) following a major shake up of AICC here today.

The lone AICC secretary Dwijendranath Sarma, who was in-charge for Madhya Pradesh has been dropped. He is an aspirant for Guwahati (West) constituency.

Digvijay Singh who was appinted a couple of months back would continue as general secretary in charge of Assam.

Col Dhani Ram Shandil and Sanjay Bopna have been given charge of Meghalaya. Col Shandil and Bapna will also remain in charge of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. While Luizinho Faleiro was appointed as special CWC invitee, Maj Ved Prakash would remain in charge of Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.

For Hemoprova Saikia, wife of late Hiteswar Saikia, who has become the lone member from the region in the 19-member CWC, the appointment would come as a big boost. Former Nagaland Chief Minister and former Governor is among a 17-member Permanent Invitee.
