Heat wave claims Kokrajhar cop

KOKRAJHAR, July 21 - An on-duty Assam Police constable named Badra Sing Narzary (44) died yesterday, while another was in a serious condition after being affected by the ongoing heat spell in Kokrajhar. Narzary fell unconscious during duty and was immediately hospitalised, though he died. He was attached to the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner�s office and hailed from Mechpara in Bongaigaon district. On the other hand, another Assam Police constable named Lalmohan Barman of Silgara in Dhubri district is presently undergoing treatment at the RNB Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar after being affected by the ongoing heat wave. He was on duty at Bhoatgaon in Kokrajhar yesterday.
