HAFLONG, Oct 5 � Unidentified miscreants have poisoned Haflong lake, the main source of drinking water in Haflong town in North Cachar Hills district, officials said today.
The residents spotted floating dead fish today and informed the police who recovered four bottles of 500 ml of Thiogen chemical pesticide from the lake.
The district administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident and warned people not to use the water of the one-km-long lake. � PTI
