Guwahati children shine in Chhatisgarh

GUWAHATI, Jan 12 - The students of Gandharba Kala Kendra, Ganeshguri, Guwahati under the guidance of their Guru Dreamly Gogoi successfully participated in the �Natya Nartan Festival- 2019 at Bhilai, Durg in Chhatisgarh recently, a press release received here stated.

The festival was organised by Kathak Rockers in collaboration with the Chhatisgarh government. Dorothy Gogoi, Krittika Saikia, Pralakshi Baishya, Tanisha Pradhan, Chitrakshi Swarnam Kalita, Dimitri Talukdar, Emili Borgohain, Mrigakshy Das and Amrisha Dutta of the institution bagged top positions in various age-category competitions.

The team from Gandharba Kala Kendra was declared the 3rd best team. In the overall performance results, Dorothy Gogoi got 1st prize in classical Satriya dance in junior category, Pralakshi Baishya got 1st prize in folk (Bihu) dance in junior category, while Mrigakshy Das and Dorothy Gogoi got 2nd prize in duet in sub-junior category. Guru Dreamly Gogoi was also honoured with an award for her contribution in the uplift of Assamese art and culture, the release added.
