JORABAT, April 27 - Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi met a nine-member delegation of six Amri Karbi organisations that have been agitating against the governments move to set up an Assam Rifles camp on agricultural cum residential land in the tribal belt region of Sonapur, at the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Friday and assured them that he would look into the issue raised by them.

Fridays meeting was held subsequent to a rally taken out by the six Amri Karbi bodies on the issue in Guwahati on April 10 during which they had submitted a memorandum to the Governor.

Meanwhile, office-bearers of the six organisations today alleged that very strong forces are trying to gag their agitation by pumping in huge sums of money through underhand dealings. They however warned that they would not call off their stir under any circumstance unless the government withdraws its move to hand over the land for the AR camp.
