GMDA fund crisis discussed

GUWAHATI, Feb 21 � The issue of serious fund crisis faced by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) was discussed today in a review meeting of the organization presided over by GMDA chairman Dhiren Baruah.

The meeting attended by engineers and experts of the GMDA expressed concern at delay in issuing funds, which is hampering several ongoing projects including the water supply project.

�We need at least Rs 50 crore immediately to continue the ongoing projects including the West Guwahati water supply scheme. I would meet Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi tomorrow to discuss the issue,� said Baruah.
