GUWAHATI, April 12 - Teachers, employees and students of the Bhaskar Nagar, Bamunimaidam Oja Hemchandra Baruah Vidyamandir here accorded a warm felicitation to Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) Chairman Dhiren Barua at a function held in the school premises recently.
In reply to the felicitation, the octogenarian Chairman of the GMDA urged the teachers and management committee members of the school to work sincerely and with a spirit of commitment towards the society so that the students of the school could shine in their career. He also announced a monthly monetary grant in perpetuity for the benefit of the teachers of the school.
The meeting was also addressed by Dwijen Bhattacharyya and Boloram Kalita, president and secretary respectively of the school governing body. Both of them extolled the virtues of the GMDA Chairman and wished him a long and healthy life.
