GUWAHATI, Aug 2 - The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has started an additional service to facilitate citizens to dispose of their bulk garbages.
To avail the services, the citizens have to make an additional payment at the Garage Branch near the Guwahati Club overbridge.
The collection and disposal of garbage will be done in the night hours only.
Henceforth, any dumping and littering of items including construction and demolition waste (C&D Waste), pruned tree trunks, branches, etc., and disposal of bulk garbage generated in festivals and functions, etc., in public places will be treated as an offence under Solid Waste Management Rule, 2016 and Guwahati Municipal Corporation Act, 1971, and penalty will be imposed accordingly.
