GUWAHATI, April 4 - The main dais at the venue of the Namami Brahmaputra Festival at Kasomarighat here today partially collapsed when Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and several other dignitaries were seated on it. No one was, however, injured in the incident.

Eyewitnesses said the dais partially collapsed as the foundation poles slightly receded into the wet sand on the banks of the Brahmaputra, where it had been erected. The prayer meeting, however, continued without any glitch as the impact was only partially felt on the main dais.
