DIMAPUR, July 21 - The Naga Hoho has alleged that fuel adulteration racket has become a regular phenomenon in the State which is a matter of grave concern for every citizen.

The Naga Hoho lauded the Nagaland Government for instituting an SIT probe into fuel adulteration racket in the State but noted that since the fuel adulteration racket in Dimapur is just a tip of the iceberg, it has become imperative to check thoroughly in all the districts of Nagaland.

A release issued by Naga Hoho expressed surprise as to why the district administration always waits for the public to find out the adulteration when the State machineries are supposed to check the adulteration rackets from time to time.

The Hoho observed that there has been a mushrooming growth of oil business in various parts of the State, especially along National Highways, run by a section of rich and influential people. In such a situation, every car owner is puzzled on availability of unadulterated fuel in fuel pumps, it stated. However, the Hoho lauded the initiative of individuals/organisations in detecting fuel rackets that led to the arrest of few kingpins involved.

The Hoho also expressed concern over food adulteration in shops and market. Over the years, many people must have died in the State owing to various food related ailments though many cases have been kept in the dark, it said.
