Four injured in leopard attack

JALUKBARI, March 26 - Four persons were injured after a straying leopard entered a house at Kamakhya opposite Kotilinga Mandir this morning in search of food.

The injured have been identified as Sukendra Sharma (45), Gita Devi (40), Joymoti Devi (45) and Deepu Kalita (35). Deepu was engaged as a security guard at the Kamakhya Temple.

The injured persons were rushed to a private hospital where they have been kept under observation. The big cat, which was trapped inside the house, was tranquilised by Forest department personnel after almost seven hours and then taken to the Assam State Zoo.
