DIPHU, Oct 21 - Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang laid the foundation stone of a Rs 10-crore Singhason Sports & Cultural Complex in Diphu on Saturday in the presence of thousands of people and BJP activists.
The sports and cultural complex which has been sponsored under the Central Government�s special package is aimed at grooming youths from every nook and corner of the district.
While addressing the gathering, Ronghang said that his party is committed to bringing development in the district for which a slew of initiatives had been initiated. In this context, he appealed to the people to extend full cooperation to the BJP-led Government in order to carry forward developmental works. �Connectivity and the health sector have been identified as priority areas, and hence we have taken a number of steps,� he said.
During the meeting, he announced that over 1,000 people would soon join the BJP, which would further strengthen the party.
Ronghang also hailed Pokhila Ingtipi, a budding athlete, for bringing glory to Karbi Anglong. He claimed that his party would improve infrastructure in order to groom more sportspersons in the district. Singhason Sports and Cultural Complex will have an auditorium, indoor stadium and an open stage.
