NAGAON, April 2 - A gang of five dreaded dacoits was apprehended by Hojai police last night, officials said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team from Jamunamukh police station in Hojai district apprehended the dacoits from their hideouts in different villages.
Abdul Mazid and Kamal Uddin were arrested from Madartali Mikirgaon village, Nazrul Haque and Nizam Uddin were held in Nagayapam village, while Abdul Wahid was arrested in Barjari village.
Police recovered cash and mobile phones from their custody. The arrested men were allegedly involved in the robbery of two commercial establishments in Jamunamukh on March 28.
