Financial aid to Barak hospitals under PPP

SILCHAR, Dec 6 - In a bid to give a boost to infrastructure development and better utilisation of various schemes, the National Health Mission (NHM) will extend financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh each to Burrows Memorial Hospital, Lakhipur, and Shiv Sundari Nari Shikshashram, Silchar, under the Public-Private partnership (PPP) mode.

The district media expert of NHM, Suman Chopudhury, said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Saturday between the District Health Society and authorities of the hospitals in the presence of Cachar Deputy Commissioner, S Viswanathan.

Choudhury further informed that the fund will be given for development of infrastructure for maternal and child health care and also for optimum utilisation of the schemes meant for the intended beneficiaries.

Deputy Commissioner S Viswanathan urged the authorities of both hospitals to organise special health check-up camps on frequent basis in the remote areas of the district.
