GANGTOK, Sept 21 - A team of the 15th Finance Commission is scheduled to visit Sikkim from September 23 to 26. During the visit, Chairman of the Commission NK Singh, along with members and senior officials of the panel, will hold a series of meetings.
The Commission will meet representatives of rural local bodies of Sikkim, which will be followed by a meeting with representatives of urban local bodies and another meeting with representatives of political parties of the State.
On the second day of the visit, the Commission team will have a meeting with Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, his Cabinet colleagues and senior officers of the State Government. This will be followed by a meeting with representatives of trade and industry bodies of Sikkim.
As part of its field visit, the Commission team is scheduled to visit the Rumtek Monastery and the Cymbidium Development Centre at Rumtek on the third and final day of the visit.
