IMPHAL, Nov 30 - A team of the 15th Finance Commission arrived here today on a two-day visit to Manipur. Later, the team led by its Chairman, NK Singh, held a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren Singh, his Council of Ministers and top officials at the conference hall of the Old Secretariat here. Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar, who holds the Finance portfolio, also attended the meeting.
The Commission also held a meeting with different political parties, rural and urban local bodies and representatives of trade and industry.
After the meeting, the Commission Chairman NK Singh told a press conference that harnessing solar and wind power, strengthening human resource and transparency of the accounting system, etc., are important for the State�s economy.
