GUWAHATI, Nov 18 - Continuing their investigations into alleged irregularities in implementation of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Supplementary Nutrition Schemes in the State, Vigilance & Anti-Corruption sleuths today continued to examine files of the Social Welfare Directorate and sealed a room of the directorate located at Uzanbazar.
�We have seized over 1,000 files and we are examining them to zero in on who all were involved in the irregularities. Searches will continue tomorrow,� SP (Vigilance & Anti-Corruption) Mukul Saikia said.
The investigation team is looking into files pertaining to implementation of the schemes since the last 10-12 years.
The investigations were launched following an FIR by the Social Welfare Director.
Earlier, an employee of the directorate, Manavendra Dutta, was arrested and a huge amount of cash was seized from his vehicle.
