Faculty dev prog concludes at Assam varsity

SILCHAR, Jan 5 - The faculty development programme (FDP) organised by Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management Studies, Assam University which started from December 19 concluded successfully on December 31.

In a release issued to the media, Dr Debmalya Ghosh, associate professor and coordinator of the programme said that participants for the FDP were from the Science and Engineering faculties of the university and its affiliated colleges. Dr Ghosh informed that the programme was sponsored by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board. Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi and conducted by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) North Eastern Regional Office, Guwahati in association with Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management Studies, Assam University.

Prof DP Roy, chairman of The Institution of Engineers was the chief guest of the valedictory session and Dr Shahin Ara Begum, president, Assam University Teachers� Association (AUTA) was the guest of honour.

Dr HR Laskar, Assistant Professor of the School of Management Studies spoke on the theme of the programme. Prof DP Roy and Dr Shahin Ara Begum delivered speeches on the positive aspects of the event. The participating faculty members also expressed their experience in the FDP. Management Club of the Department conducted the proceedings of the programme.
