Facial aesthetic surgery meet organised

GUWAHATI, Aug 27 - The 13th regional continuing medical education (CME) programme and live surgical and aesthetic procedural workshop was held on August 25 26 at the Swagat Super Speciality Surgical Institute, Maligaon, according to a press release today.

The programme was conducted by Aesthetic Society of North East India, a body born in 2010 and having members from different specialties concerned with aesthetic health of people, including those from dermatology, ENT, plastic surgery, obesity surgery and orofacial surgery.

The theme of the programme was �Emerging trends in aesthetic Surgery in the North East India�.

The procedures which were demonstrated live were nose correction surgery rhinoplasty, eyelid correction blepheroplasty, face lift and many similar procedures.

Eminent rhinoplasty surgeon Prof Brajendra Baser of Indore and renowned cosmetologist Dr Malavika Kohli of Mumbai were the guest faculty. Apart from them, occuli-plastic surgeon Dr Kasturi Bhattacharjee and many noted local faculty made valuable contribution to the event, the release added.
