DIBRUGARH, July 13 - Oil exploration activities of Oil India Limited (OIL) came to a partial standstill today due to the obstruction in the oil field areas by Asam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) as part of their statewide protest against the governments plan to go for bidding of 12 marginalised oil fields to private companies.

The members of the AJYCP staged blockade of the roads leading to the oil wells and obstructed works of the OIL in some areas of Duliajan, Tingkhong, Naharkatia, Bhadoi Paanchali, Dikom, Lahoal, Tengakhat, and Chabua in the morning hours. However, in the afternoon, OIL had resumed works in most areas.
