GUWAHATI, June 4 � The Assam Cricket Association has invited 33 former Ranji Trophy players to its governing body meeting which is scheduled to be held at the Barsapara cricket stadium here on June 8 from 9.30 onwards.
The meeting will discuss and decide about the development of the game in Assam, informed an ACA source.
It may be mentioned that the performances of the State teams in the BCCI tournaments were not satisfactory during the last few seasons. Despite enjoying good facilities, the players could not perform satisfactorily.
Meanwhile the State cricket body has recently arranged an open trial for young cricketers in different places to spot talents.
